How Agent eFile handles information.
This policy explains the information we process when you use Agent eFile and the choices available to you.

1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Agent eFile collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information when you visit our website or use our filing-validation and preparation services (the "Service"). It applies to account holders, trial users, website visitors, and people who contact us.
If you use Agent eFile through a law firm or other organization, that organization may separately control your account and information. Its privacy practices may also apply.
2. Information We Collect
Account and contact information
Name, email address, firm name, telephone number, account settings, and support communications.
Filing content
Documents, case information, parties, court details, filing selections, metadata, validation results, and information you provide during preparation.
Billing information
Subscription status, transaction details, and billing contact information. Payment-card information may be processed directly by our payment provider.
Technical and usage information
Device, browser, IP address, timestamps, pages viewed, feature use, error logs, and security events needed to operate and protect the Service.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide filing validation, preparation, customer support, and account administration;
- process subscriptions and approved filing-preparation charges;
- identify missing information, common filing issues, and potential errors;
- maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve the Service;
- communicate about accounts, transactions, product updates, and support requests;
- prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and other harmful activity; and
- comply with law, valid legal process, and enforceable agreements.
4. Automated and AI-Assisted Processing
Agent eFile may use automated and artificial-intelligence-assisted tools to extract filing information, perform validation, identify potential issues, and prepare information for review. These tools can make mistakes.
5. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information:
- to service providers supporting hosting, security, authentication, payment processing, communications, analytics, and customer support;
- when you direct us to interact with a court, clerk, filing platform, or another third party;
- to your law firm or organization if it manages or pays for your account;
- when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or enforce our terms; and
- as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of all or part of the business, subject to appropriate protections.
Agent eFile does not sell personal information for money. We do not disclose filing content for third-party advertising.
6. Security and Confidentiality
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Access to customer content is limited to people and providers who need it to operate, secure, support, or improve the Service.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for securing your account, devices, email, and court-filing sessions. Learn more on our Security & Confidentiality page.
7. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain required business and security records, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary based on the type of information, account status, legal requirements, and customer instructions.
You may contact us to request deletion of eligible account information or filing content. Some information may be retained where required for legal, billing, fraud-prevention, security, or backup purposes.
8. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request.
To submit a request, email support@agentefile.com with the subject "Privacy request." If your firm controls your account, we may direct the request to the firm.
9. Third-Party Services
Courts, clerks, filing platforms, payment providers, identity providers, and linked websites have their own privacy practices. This Policy does not govern information processed independently by those third parties.
10. Children
The Service is designed for legal professionals and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children for account registration.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy as the Service and legal requirements change. We will post the revised version and update the effective date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by another reasonable method.
